PayBitt Technologies Limited ("PayBitt") is committed to protecting the personal data of our customers, partners, and website visitors. This Data Protection Policy describes how we collect, process, store, and protect personal data in accordance with applicable data protection laws, including the Data Protection Act 2012 (Act 843) of Ghana and other relevant regulations.
2. Data controller

3. Legal basis for processing
We process personal data only where we have a lawful basis: (a) consent; (b) performance of a contract; (c) compliance with legal obligations (including AML/KYC requirements); (d) legitimate interests pursued by PayBitt or a third party, where not overridden by your rights.

We may process: identity data (name, date of birth, ID documents); contact data (email, phone, address); financial data (payment history, account details) as necessary for our services; technical data (IP address, device information); and verification data required for KYC and AML compliance.
5. Data retention
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, including to satisfy legal, regulatory, and reporting requirements. Retention periods may extend beyond the end of our relationship where required by law (e.g. AML record-keeping).

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. This includes encryption, access controls, and regular security assessments.

We share data with our licensed bank and payment service provider partners as necessary to provide our services. We do not sell personal data. Where we transfer data outside Ghana, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place.

You may have rights to: access your data; correct inaccurate data; request erasure (subject to legal obligations); object to processing; restrict processing; and data portability.
